According to Judi's House/JAG Institute, an estimated 1 out of 14 children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling before they reach the age of 18. Over 4.9 million youth are bereaved, and the number more than doubles by age 25, to 12.8 million. Below are resources for assisting children with grief and loss.
Judi's House, Denver, CO
As I discuss in my book, Feeling Left Behind, Denver has an organization specifically to help grieving children and their families—at no cost. Even if you aren't in Denver, the website has many resources for assisting children with grief.
Eluna Network, National Bereavement
New York Life has partnered with Eluna to provide a list of state and local resources—camps and grief organizations—organized by state: https://elunanetwork.org/national-bereavement-resource-guide/resources/
